Having a husband at home 24/7 changes one’s routine…

We had a great holiday…spent time with family and friends.  I’m bound and determined to have a great year this year.  We have a lot of changes in store for us.

 I started at my new job today.  Feels exhilirating!  I’m just one of those people that are meant to be a part of the work force.  I feel like I’m contributing to life and I’m educating myself daily.  It’s healthier for me and for my family.  J should hear something within the next day or so about a part-time gig.  If that works out then he’ll have the time to finish up his MBA.

I’m anxious to get some pics up on here.  My oldest surfer boy decided to cut all his hair off and “just be a boy”…and he is so dang handsome!

Because of the holiday maylay, I’m a little slower at getting my new blog up and running but stay tuned…

So until after Christmas (maybe) I want to leave you  with something that has ab-so-lut-ely nothing to do with Christmas…

Stacey and John are hands-down the most generous hosts I’ve ever encountered.  And I’m a missionary kid so I’ve been to TONS of people’s homes….even her kids were kind enough to let us bunk in their rooms.  It was one of those homes that you feel completely comfortable going in the kitchen and helping yourself to whatever.  They definitely have the gift of hospitality.  I would’ve been a wreck had roles been reversed.

From the moment she opened up her front door, she talked to me like she’s known me her whole life and didn’t stop all weekend!  Come to find out she talks a lot when she gets nervous!  Isn’t that a hoot?  She’s a smooth talker too.  Some how I got wrangled into helping her work at her church for a little bit and was completely oblivious to it until it was all over.  She’s that gooooooood!

Cat, her husband Jeff and her youngest actually wanted to do stuff with us too, so that was totally cool getting to know her as well.  Cat’s a little bit of a wild girl (oh yes you are!!) and Stacey kept trying to keep her in line, so I was constantly entertained.

We ended up going to see Santa Friday night.  The funniest side to this was trying to keep my 2 boys from spilling the beans about Santa to Stacey’s son.  My 2 guys are a bunch of fuddy-duddies and never bought the whole Santa story.  Thankfully they think it’s great fun to play along.

We ended up talking about everything under the moon and then some.  We’ve sworn on our friendship without involving spit or blood and I’m pretty sure I’ve met a life long friend.

And I’ve kept God busy this week.

Wednesday night my husband was fired from his position at the church.  There was no moral failure nor was there any other type of unethical acts from my husband.  But it just wasn’t a “fit”.  We saw it coming but not like this and not 2 weeks before Christmas.  They want to help us through the holidays but even that comes with stipulations.

So that’s the hurtful and painful side of it.  The amazing side is we’ve had a day and half to see God move in ways that we so desperately needed to see.  We needed Him to get in our face and tell us, “I know…..let me take care of you.”  We really had no idea just how many people loved us at the church.  We have many friends there, but we’ve never really had the chance to sit down and take account of ALL our blessings.  The phone calls have been overwhelming.  We have literally spent almost every waking (and some not so waking) hour on the phone with concerned people.  We’ve actually ended up having to encourage a lot of them to keep their focus on God and not on this situation.  We are rich with friendships and personally, I’ve never been in that situation.

I came on and checked my blog today and was floored by the comments!  Your kind words and prayers have physically brought me to my knees.  I now know just how much it means for people to receive words of encouragement on their blogs while going through challanges.  Thank you so much for teaching me that very valuable lesson.

I have no idea what we will do next but for right now we will be spending time with family and friends and enjoying the holidays…..focusing our thoughts on anything and everything but us.

And for me I get a chance to work on my new blog, and I’m WAY past due on adding some good Stacey and Cat photo’s on here.  So come on back tomorrow and I’ll have that up….I’m ready to put my bottled tears up for awhile and just have some fun.

I could’ve done without 2007.

I do not like getting on this blog and pouring my blah all over it, because we all have our own fill of blah, but I have spent the majority of my day bawling out of anger.

No, GiGi is ok (new pup).  She’ll need to stay at the hospital another day or so, but she’ll pull through ok.

I can’t even talk details about what happened today until Friday.

There’s going to be some major changes going on in our lives and I’m not happy how it’s turning out.  I’m not much for crying yet I feel like that’s all I’ve been doing.  My family and I have been wronged to the ‘nth degree and I don’t handle that very well.  I know that it’s not my place to take vengence but a baseball bat to a few kneecaps would feel so nice!

I’m ragefully angry to the point of not knowing what to do with myself.  I can’t even pray about it right now.

So please bear with me as I try to deal with these horrible changes in my life right now.  I have so many funny things to share here, but I can’t find my humor button right now.

I want to write about one of the most relaxing weekends we’ve had in ages.

I want to write about Stacey.

But…

When we got into town my husband bought me an early Christmas present and this present has been a handful…

Right now she is at the vet hospital with a stomach problem that is now involving the Center of Disease Control.  Long story and I’m just too dang pooped (pun intended) to get any thoughts together.

Before I go, please know that yes, Stacey was a peach.  Cat was sassy fun.  And I have a ton of pictures to show.  So she’s not the only one that had a blast and wants to brag.

 If all goes well and my new puppy is still alive I’ll be back…

I can’t wait to get the whole low down on the real Gidget.  I mean, we met at Silver Dollar City, but geez…it was like speed dating.  Without the dating.  I also get to meet Cat for the first time.  She’s totally slacking on the blogging thing, but she’s got a real job…so there ya go.  Plus I hear she’s skinny…so taking her out….

Not only do I get to interrogate spend hours with Stacey, but I also get to have my head in Dr. January’s lap!

…while a machine gun is shooting God-knows-what at my eyeballs!

Lasik…is it really worth the lap “job”?  I’ll let you know on Monday!
